After struggling for over than 5 days, finally i can configure my Centrino so that i can connect to the Internet using Slackware. I incorrectly set the mode type. After changing the value, it works and now i’m connected using Slackware 10.1
Thanks to Joshua M. Sinambela who helped me via YM. He spotted the mode being used in my configuration and let me know.
For several days i’m trying to configure my laptop so it can connected to the Internet using Centrino module. But until now, i’m still unable to do. My Windows can be connected, but my Slackware isn’t. The Centrino is detected, but it can’t load the module. I have tried the solution on the IPW2200 website but until now, it doesn’t work. Let’s hope that in the next few days, i’ll be able to configure it.
As i have finished my final project reports and submit them, my only activity is waiting for the final decision whether i graduate or not. Meanwhile, right now i’m busy configuring my new laptop, installed with Slackware 10.1 to detect the WLAN device. In Mandriva, the process will be easier, since it has included a driver and also ndiswrapper that can use Windows driver, but in Slackware, it has to be done manually.
I have found the driver, thanks to Josh Sinambela, but…. it has to use Kernel 2.6.3+ and Slackware comes with 2.4.29 by default, even though Kernel 2.6.10 is included in testing directory. Let see if i can configure the WLAN module.
After finishing my revision, my final task to complete my study at UKDW as to finish administration about my final project reports, such as asking for signatures from lectures. I hope i can finish it this week and next week i can finish it all, including submitting CD that contains my final project source code, reports, and also some application that is needed to use my final project.
Today, i will face 4 lectures to present my final project presentation at 4 PM. This presentation will decide whether i will finish my final project subject or not. Before the presentation, i have to finish my Internet & Multimedia final exam at 2 PM. It will be a busy and hard day, but when it’s over, it should be a happy and wonderful day. Wish me luck
If you visit my personal website you might see some minor changes to the style. Indeed. I have updated the style to solve the consistency problems, because i used the same style for links and strong text, so perhaps it’s quite ambiguous. I also have updated the right side blog post and it has new color and also new background color. Hope you like it
Tomorrow i will be at Amikom to be a speaker in the Linuxday event, held by AMIKOM and Jogja Linux User Group. I will present about Office Suite in GNU/Linux platform mostly OpenOffice.org. The event will be held from 8 AM to 16 PM, so it is a long day, but let’s hope we can enjoy the events
I have fixed few bugs on my final project. Now, the Slashdot’s headlines can be correctly parsed from the original site and results on the correct RSS Feed. Right now, i’m trying to make an improvement in my final project by adding new site, which is DetikInet. Let’s hope it will be finished today or perhaps tomorrow.
I’m very busy this month. Let’s hope everything will be done in time
This week i had to finish my fourth chapter of my final project reports. I have finished about 50% of my reports. Maybe i will do my first demonstration about my final project this week also, because i have fixed my final project scripts that exists on my previous version.
Finally i managed to give my third chapter to my lecturer. Maybe it would take him two days to read and clarify all of it, since it’s 53 pages long. I’ll come back tomorrow and see if it’s done, but i’m not too sure about this
I have done a lot of updates this week, including OpenOffice.org 1.9.87, PHPMyAdmin, Webmin, wine, and a lot of Windows application.
